The New York Rangers first-round pick (17th) from last years draft, Alexei Cherepanov, died in a KHL game. Puck Daddy has all the details and links regarding the story. A terrible tragedy and condolences go out to his family, friends, and teammates.
On to What’s Bruin.
- Thank god, Fluto Shinzawa over at the Boston Globe gets paid to do this stuff, or else I would have never have anything to pass along. Chuck Kobasew is out three weeks with a fractured right ankle. The Bruins are deep enough at forward that this shouldn’t be a massive issue for three weeks, but Kobasew has become more gritty over the past season and performs well in his role. I suppose its tough being a professional athlete with such brittle bones. [Boston Globe]
- Aaron Ward’s latest installment of his blog is up and I think these are only going to get better and better [Boston Bruins]
- Not Bruins, but the media-mascot for the Phoenix Coyotes is going to give Nordy a run for his money. [Hockey Dump]
