What’s Bruin – Oct. 7

The much speculated upon roster move finally happened today as Peter Schaefer, Jeremy Reich, and Nate Thompson were waived and Carl Soderberg (gasp!) was assigned to his Swedish team, the Malmo Redhawks. Blake Wheeler will start with the big club on Thursday night and let’s all hope he only gets better. These were the correct roster moves, but was there any real surprise that this is how the roster shook down? I could cite about eight million sites on this information, but in the end it would all link back to Fluto Shinzawa at the Boston Globe, so if you want to read like two more sentences about it, feel free to go anywhere else on the internet. I doubt we will look at the roster moves in depth around here, but they will crop up in the coming season preview.

It’s only two days before the season starts continues, and we are in the calm before the storm, as the only real news is the final roster cuts for all the teams.
